  1. This disc will contain the complete FreeBSD 2.0 operating system, a
  2. full BSD 4.4 Lite compatible 32 bit operating system.  This product
  3. includes software developed by the University of California, Berkeley
  4. and its contributors.  We expect version 2.0 to ship around December
  5. 1994.

  7. FreeBSD has a simple CDROM installation.  You also can switch
  8. operating systems easily with an easy to set up Multi-OS boot system.

  10. FreeBSD comes with XFree86 2.1 (X11R5 patch level 25) with support
  11. for VGA/SVGA, TSENG ET3000/ET4000, S3 801/805/928, ATI Ultra/Ultra
  12. Pro and IBM 8514 accelerated graphics cards.  Ready-to-run X11
  13. utilities and libraries such as XView, XV, Tcl/Tk, JPEG and other
  14. image manipulation tools, etc.

  16. FreeBSD comes with full USENET News and mail (nntp, trn, elm, mh).
  17. You get Berkeley-style (TCP/IP) networking services (ftp, telnet,
  18. rlogin) with SLIP, PPP, gopher, archie, and industry standard NFS.

  20. Complete development environment with GNU C and C++ compilers (v.
  21. 2.4.5), GDB, f2c (Fortran to C), source debuggers, profilers, Gnu
  22. emacs 19.22, etc.  You get TeX 3.14, ghostscript, FlexFax fax
  23. software, afm fonts, ksh, and bash shells, etc.

  25. FreeBSD 2.0 will feature a fully coherent, dynamically-sized
  26. VM/buffer cache, giving better performance and stability under load.

  29. features and support that users have come to know and expect.

  32. integrated build system that lets you *make* the whole source tree
  33. with one command.  FreeBSD has ISO 9660 and Rock Ridge CDROM support.

  43. ram (8MB recommended.)  You need a minimum of 60MB for binary only
  44. system, and 700MB for everything.

  47. drives, or CDROM on Mitsumi CDROM inteface card.  Supported hard disk
  48. controllers: WD1003 (any generic MFM/RLL), WD1007 (any generic
  49. IDE/ESDI) Adaptec 154x series ISA SCSI controller, Adaptec 174x
  50. series EISA SCSI controller, Buslogic 545S, 747S and 742A
  51. controllers, UltraStore 14F and 34F.
